Robbers target backyard parties in Minneapolis

Police are warning neighbors in south Minneapolis after robbers targeted people attending two late-night backyard gatherings.

Authorities say people were gathered in a backyard on Chicago Avenue South early Saturday when two suspects - one carrying a handgun - entered the yard and demanded everyone hand over their valuables. The suspects fled after taking money and wallets.

Early Sunday, two suspects entered a backyard on 10th Avenue South and demanded that people turn over their valuables. During a confrontation, one of the suspects shot a man in the abdomen. The victim was taken to HCMC, where he's in stable condition. The suspects ran away.

The suspects are two males 14-20 years old wearing hooded sweat shirts with the hoods up and bandanas over their faces.
