Gov. Pawlenty takes on health care for RGA

One night after President Barack Obama addressed the nation on health care, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty had plans to discuss his views in a Republican Governors Association telephone briefing.

Pawlenty and South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds are hosting what the group is billing as "an exclusive health care briefing and discussion." It is scheduled for Thursday night and requires participants to sign up in an advance.

The two-term Minnesota governor has criticized Obama's health care overhaul proposals as too intrusive, expensive and ineffective.

Pawlenty is mentioned as a potential 2012 candidate for president.
