Fire danger high for the weekend

Fire officials in Minnesota are warning that fire danger has increased across the state.

Doug Miedtke of the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center says normal rainfall for the past month should be 3 inches, but most areas have had less than half of that.

The agency says the fire danger will be high in many areas, especially after another few days of warm temperatures.

Officials are asking campers and hunters to make sure their campfires are completely out to prevent forest and brush fires.
