Man goes off bridge onto I-35W, hits car and dies
A man who jumped from a Minneapolis overpass Sunday night landed on an open-top convertible.
The State Patrol says the man struck the driver when he landed, and then died at the scene. The driver was not seriously injured.
The man had "self-inflicted injuries" prior to jumping, the State Patrol said.
The incident happened on the Franklin Ave. bridge over Interstate 35W. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office has not yet released autopsy results.
