Fire department scales down Wis. bar's plan to burn Favre gear

An Eau Claire restaurant is scaling back plans to burn Brett Favre memorabilia during Monday night's Packers-Vikings game.

The manager at the Milwaukee Burger Co. says the fire department wasn't pleased about plans to ignite the Favre gear.

The plan was to let patrons toss Favre jerseys, pictures, posters and memorabilia into the burn barrel and watch it all go up in flames.

But Fire Chief Ed Kassing says it would be illegal for the restaurant to burn that much stuff. He also says the health department is concerned about fumes that could be released.

Milwaukee Burger says it'll burn just one Favre jersey and donate everything else to Goodwill.

The restaurant says it will honor its previous plan to donate $10 per item to an unspecified charity.
