Free tickets available for inaugural ride of Northstar rail
There's still a chance to get free tickets for the inaugural ride of the Northstar commuter rail line.
Friday is the deadline to enter a drawing for a free ride on the line from Big Lake to Minneapolis.
The Northstar line will have its grand opening on Nov. 14. Rides will be free that day but tickets will be required to board the train.
Northstar operators are giving away more than 350 tickets for each station outside of downtown Minneapolis, choosing the winner by random drawing.
Those who don't enter the drawing still have a limited chance to get tickets on opening day.
