Denny Hecker ordered to detail finances

A Hennepin County judge has given former auto mogul Denny Hecker two weeks to provide an accounting of his current finances.

Judge Jay Quam said Monday he could not determine whether Hecker can afford to pay $7,500 a month in alimony to his estranged wife, Tamitha Hecker, until he knows more about Hecker's finances.

Hecker says he's received personal loans from friends and business associates to meet monthly expenses of about $25,000. Hecker's lawyer, William Skolnick, says his client has no income and can't pay any amount of spousal maintenance.

Federal authorities are investigating Hecker for evidence of bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. He has not been charged with a crime and denies any wrongdoing.

Hecker filed for personal bankruptcy in June after the collapse of his auto dealership empire. He reportedly owes creditors $767 million. ---
