Antiwar protests planned

Dozens of antiwar protests will take place across the country on Saturday, including at least two in Minnesota.

Protesters are asking for an end to U.S. involvement in the fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and for government money to be spent on other needs such as health care and jobs.

In Minnesota, demonstrations will be held in Minneapolis and Duluth Saturday afternoon. The Minneapolis group will march from Hennepin and Lagoon Avenues to Loring Park. Duluth antiwar protesters plan to march from Lake Place Plaza in the Canal Park district to the Duluth Civic Center.

Both events end with a closing rally.
