Actress Hilary Swank to chat with UMD students via webcast

Students at the University of Minnesota-Duluth will get a chance tonight to interact with actress Hilary Swank and the director of the new film "Amelia" about the life of Amelia Earhart.

Up to 200 students and members of the public in Duluth will connect to an event in New York City featuring Swank and director Mira Nair. They'll be able to participate in a live question-and-answer session.

Swank plays Earhart in the new film, which arrives in theaters next week. Earhart was the first to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 while attempting to fly around the world.

The UMD students will be the only ones participating in the event via webcast, which is part of the Times Talk series sponsored by The New York Times.
