St. Paul boy dies while waiting for heart transplant

A 3-year-old St. Paul boy has died while waiting for a heart transplant.

Connor Tucker had been hospitalized under sedation in hopes that he would eventually grow strong enough for a temporary heart device. Connor died Sunday, just a couple weeks short of his fourth birthday.

Connor was born in November 2005 with a defect that left one side of his heart smaller than normal.

His father, Michael Tucker, says his son was funny, smart, energetic, happy and very brave.

Connor's funeral is Wednesday at St. Pius X Church in White Bear Lake.
