Man killed in Minneapolis hit and run

Police are looking for the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe who hit and killed a pedestrian in south Minneapolis last night.

Minneapolis Police Sgt. Jesse Garcia said police responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. and found a man lying in the street near 31st and Minnehaha Avenue South. A lot of debris was left by the SUV, and police expect to soon be able to determine its color and provide other details, he said.

"We're asking whoever was driving the vehicle to come forward and resolve this," Garcia said.

The name and age of the pedestrian will be released later by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
