Austin man convicted of starving dogs

A southern Minnesota man has been found guilty of letting two dogs die of starvation, dehydration and exposure.

Jacob Joshua McAlister was charged with animal cruelty for failing to care for the Labradors. The dogs - one black Lab and one chocolate - were found dead in a kennel last April.

The Austin Daily Herald reports the 31-year-old Lyle man will be sentenced April 22 in Mower County.
