Authorities have released the identity of a woman found dead about six miles northwest of Owatonna - and they say she was murdered.

An autopsy confirmed Friday that 19-year-old Kathryn Rose Anderson of Eagan died of homicidal injuries. A passer-by found her body a day earlier in a ditch along 30th Street Northwest and County Road 17.

Authorities in Tulsa, Okla., took a person of interest into custody Friday afternoon. Officials say the individual is an acquaintance of Anderson.

The Steele County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating. ---

Anyone with information about Anderson's whereabouts late Wednesday and early Thursday is urged to call: (866) 878-7964 or (507) 451-8232.
