Bail set at $500,000 for prominent Minn. attorney

Bail is set at $500,000 for a prominent Minneapolis attorney who's accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy.

The complaint alleges 46-year-old Aaron Frank Biber had sex with the boy, got him drunk at his Shorewood home, sent him explicit text messages, and tried to arrange in a phone call to meet the boy for more sex.

Biber's bail was set Tuesday at $500,000 with the conditions that he cannot break the law, must stay away from the victim and his family, and cannot contact anyone under 18 years old except his own children. He was ordered to surrender his passport.

Biber's attorney, Rachel Goldberger, calls the high bail absurd.

Biber is treasurer of the Minnesota State Bar Association, which says it's in the process of suspending him. He's been placed on leave from his firm, Gray Plant Mooty.
