Steger sees progress in climate change talks

Minnesota polar explorer Will Steger says he doesn't expect sweeping policy changes to come out of the Copenhagen climate change conference. But he says nations seem committed to curbing global warming.

Steger is in Denmark for the talks, and he says there likely won't be a "full-fledged treaty" emerging from the conference.

"What I've noticed here at this conference is the seriousness that people are taking this," said Steger. "I've been working on climate change for over 20 years, and we finally have all the countries together and seriously looking at that. This is a very complicated issue and topic. There's not one single solution here for it."

Still, Steger says he's not ruling out seeing some concrete government proposals to slow climate change. He says a lot of the action between diplomats is taking place behind the scenes.
