Democrat Tom Rukavina says he raised more than $135,000 last year in his bid to become Minnesota's next governor.

Rukavina, a state representative, is one of 11 Democrats running in the wide-open race.

His campaign said Tuesday that he has more than $60,000 in the bank and expects to be competitive in the Democrats' endorsing contest in April. The campaign says more than 1,100 people gave money.

Candidates are not required to report their 2009 fundraising until the end of the month.
