Pawlenty, top lawmakers meet to talk MN budget
Gov. Tim Pawlenty and top legislative leaders are meeting on Friday to talk about the state's budget problems.
The Republican governor is hosting the meeting in his Capitol office.
The state has a projected $1.2 billion budget shortfall through the middle of 2011.
State leaders are also facing uncertainty over $2.7 billion in cuts and payment delays Pawlenty enacted on his own authority last year, after a Ramsey County judge reversed one of the cuts. Pawlenty has said he plans to appeal that ruling.
The budget problems will take top billing when the legislative session begins on Feb. 4.
