Missing Minn. man's body found near Vail Mountain

The body of a man who hadn't been seen since he left to go snowboarding Jan. 6 has been found in the backcountry near Vail Mountain.

Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis said Thursday that 19-year-old Jasper "Jaz" McGrath of Grand Marais, Minn., suffocated in an avalanche.

Relatives say McGrath recently moved from Minnesota and was living in Vail with his brother, Joe.

Sheriff's officials say two skiers spotted his body Thursday near Miller Cliffs, an undeveloped area outside the Vail ski area's boundaries.
