2 plead not guilty to 2007 triple slaying in Minn.

Two men indicted on federal murder charges in the 2007 slayings of a woman, her boyfriend and her 15-year-old daughter in St. Paul are pleading not guilty.

Court documents filed Friday contain the pleas of 28-year-old Tyvarus Lee Lindsey and 31-year-old Rashad Raleigh. They were indicted earlier this month.

They are charged with three counts of murder resulting from the possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. They also each face one additional firearm count.

The U.S. attorney's office says both could face the death penalty if convicted of the murder counts.

Also Friday, U.S. District Judge Joan Erickson named prominent criminal defense lawyer Jon Hopeman to represent Lindsey. Hope recently defended Minnesota businessman Tom Petters on fraud charges.
