Brother of Mpls police chief sentenced to jail

The brother of the Minneapolis police chief has been sentenced to six months in jail for possession of marijuana and one-tenth of a gram of methamphetamine.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports 53-year-old Paul Dolan, a U.S. postal carrier, asked the judge for leniency Monday, saying he took drugs for the pain of a serious skin disease.

On July 28, a hidden camera caught him smoking meth while driving his postal truck in St. Paul. Police later reportedly found 130 marijuana plants in his home in Minneapolis.

On Dec. 8, Dolan pleaded guilty in Ramsey County District Court to two counts of fifth-degree drug possession.
