Woman sentenced to nearly 5 years for fatal crash
A New Brighton woman is sentenced to nearly five years in prison for a fatal crash as she fled from an illegal drag-racing event.
Twenty-one-year-old Jacqueline Marie Wagner pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide in the Aug. 23 collision that killed 39-year-old Moussa Ould Maayif. He was on his way home for a prayer service at his mosque when Wagner raced through a red light and struck Maayif's vehicle.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says Ramsey County District Judge William Leary sentenced Wagner to four years and nine months in prison Thursday.
