Officer accused of misconduct on duty
A Lakes Area police officer is accused of providing alcohol to an underage woman and having sex with her while he was on duty.
A criminal complaint charges 56-year-old Michael Joseph Delmont of Lino Lakes with police officer misconduct, furnishing liquor to someone under 21 and obstruction.
The complaint says Delmont, while on duty, met the 19-year-old woman in a park in 2007 where he gave her alcohol and they had sex. Chisago County investigators say they recorded a phone call between the teen and Delmont in which he admitting giving her alcohol knowing she was under 21.
KSTP-TV reports Delmont is currently on paid leave and is expected in court Friday.
