Gov. Pawlenty says it's unlikely that he will propose a plan for building a new Vikings stadium.
The governor's comments come less than a week after DFL legislative leaders said they won't act on any Vikings stadium plan until he puts his own proposal on the table.
Pawlenty said Tuesday he's unlikely to include a proposal in his supplemental budget plan, and said he doesn't have a stand-alone proposal. Pawlenty also said state lawmakers should provide leadership on the issue.
"I would encourage them to have their own thought, not just in terms of the Vikings stadium but in general," Pawlenty said.
The Vikings have been pushing Pawlenty and state lawmakers to come up with a way to build a new stadium for the team. The Vikings lease on the Metrodome runs out at the end of 2011.
