Grand jury issues indictment in kidnapping murder

A grand jury has indicted an Oklahoma man in the kidnapping and murder of his former girlfriend.

Ryan Stanley Hurd, 22, is accused of taking 19-year-old Kathryn Rose Anderson from her Eagan apartment, stabbing her 109 times and leaving her in highway ditch in Steele County. Her body was found near Owatonna Dec. 3. Hurd was later found in his hometown of Tulsa, Okla., and arrested.

Hurd had a no-contact order against him at the time of the murder after he was arrested in October for domestic assault. Friends say the two were ending their relationship.

The Owatonna People's Press reports Hurd was indicted on five charges, including first-degree premeditated murder.
