Faribault man pleads guilty to producing child pornography

A Faribault man has pleaded guilty to producing child pornography by recording sexually explicit acts on his cell phone.

Michael Angelo Borromeo, 39, pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to one count of production of child pornography in connection with producing video of a 14-year-old.

According to court documents, Borromeo coerced the teen into engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which Borromeo recorded on his cell phone.

Borromeo will be sentenced at a later date. He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative to combat the sexual exploitation of children, particularly on the Internet.
