A former supervisory special agent with the FBI will be talking about terrorism at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute on Tuesday.
Ali Soufan has been on the forefront of our nation's battle with al-Qaida.
While with the FBI, he investigated and supervised international terrorism cases including the East African Embassy bombings, the attack on the USS Cole, and the events surrounding the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Among other things, he went undercover as an al-Qaida agent, interrogated top terrorists, and was the government's main witness at trials in Guantanamo Bay.
During Tuesday's speech, Soufan will explain mistakes made against al-Qaida and talk about what needs to be done to defeat the group.
Former Vice President Walter Mondale will offer commentary.
