Two Harbors bus driver charged with sexual assualt

A 62-year-year-old school bus driver from Two Harbors has been charged in St. Louis County District Court with sexually assaulting four preteen girls.

The Duluth News Tribune reports Monday that Jimmy Jerome James is charged with four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Prosecutors allege James groped the girls after putting them on his lap while he drove the bus.

Judge Mark Munger set bail at $100,000 bond Monday.

Defense attorney Joanna Wiegert was critical of law enforcement for arresting James after he had talked to them on the phone and had made arrangements to meet with her.

James has been an employee of the Lake Superior School District for 38 years. He is on administrative leave.
