Mother accused of fatally beating young son

A St. Cloud woman is accused of fatally beating her young son with a shoe.

Nyachuol Lungdicok Poch, 31, is being held in the Stearns County Jail on $1 million bond.

Poch is charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 22-month-old son. The criminal complaint says Poch admitted hitting the boy with a shoe because he was crying.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the child had a lacerated liver and other soft tissue injuries.
