Mark Vinz' poetry has always been identified with the Midwest. He spent 40 years teaching in the English department at the University of Minnesota - Moorhead.

In a 1973 interview with MPR reporter Bill Siemering, Vinz talks about his romance through words with the prairie.

During the interview, Vinz read his poem, "Linstorm," which conjures farmers working the earth during harvest season.
