Four more people die in car accidents

Three people are dead in a Dakota County crash that caps a deadly few days on Minnesota roads.

Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows says an SUV with three passengers was traveling on County Road 47 in Vermillion Township just after noon on Monday with a semi-tractor trailer following behind.

Bellows says a witness saw the SUV appear to slow down and make a wide turn when it was hit broadside by the semi.

All three SUV passengers were killed in the crash. Their names have not yet been released. The truck driver was not injured.

Monday's accident follows an early Sunday accident in Cambridge that killed six people, a Saturday night crash near Onamia that killed a 16-year-old girl, and a Friday accident in southeastern Minnesota that killed three teens.

In addition, the State Patrol said an unidentified driver was killed Sunday night in a single-car accident on Interstate 35W near I-494. That brought the total number killed in Minnesota car accidents to 14 over a three-day period.
