Brooklyn Park party ends in fatal shooting of teen

Brooklyn Park police say a fight involving dozens of people ended with the fatal shooting of a teenage boy.

Capt. Craig Enevoldsen says officers received a call about 12:30 a.m. Sunday that more than 100 people were involved in a fight. As officers responded, they received more calls saying shots had been fired.

Enevoldsen says when officers arrived, they saw 50 to 60 people running from the scene and found a boy who was 16 or 17 years old shot in the chest. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enevoldsen says officers are still interviewing witnesses but it appears the fight started as a large house party was ending. He says both adults and teens were at the house party.
