A bipartisan group of at least four Minnesota lawmakers is set to present a plan to pay for a new football stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.

The group led by Senate Taxes Chairman Tom Bakk put out a news release Sunday afternoon saying it would have a press conference at 9 a.m. Monday at the state Capitol.

A Senate spokesman says no details will be released until then.

Team officials have said they are hoping for some action on the issue this year, noting the Metrodome lease runs out after 2011.

Bakk has told the Star Tribune he thought a bill would have to be introduced this week for a chance at passage in the final two weeks of the session.

Last week he told the newspaper that despite months of negotiations there was no agreement on how to fund the $800 million project.
