Minn. teen sentenced in Wisconsin crash that killed 2

A Minnesota teen is sentenced to eight years in prison for a car crash that killed two passengers last summer in western Wisconsin.

Austin Pederson, 18, earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle in an agreement with prosecutors in St. Croix County.

Authorities say Pederson had a detectable amount of marijuana in his system when he lost control of his car while speeding in Star Prairie and rolled the vehicle on a curve.

Seventeen-year-old Daishonna Payne and 26-year-old Alan Alwin were killed in the crash.
