St. Paul high school locked down briefly

A St. Paul high school went into lockdown today Friday after a report that a student was spotted with a gun.

But St. Paul Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Schnell says the Humboldt High School student was located and no gun was found. Schnell believes the report of a gun may have been incorrect.

"Maybe the focus of this is in fact not a gun at all, but some type of stun gun or something along those lines," he said.

Schnell says the student never made a threat and no weapons were found after a sweep of the school.

Schnell says the school will control access in and out of the building through early afternoon as a precautionary measure.
