Fire departments from five communities are battling a blaze that's destroyed two buildings in the main business district of a west central Minnesota city.

Wheaton Fire Chief Adam Wilson tells KFGO radio the D Bar and Grill and a former jewelry store were destroyed. Wilson says firefighters got the call about 5 a.m. Monday. He says the fire apparently started in the bar. Wilson says they're trying to keep the fire from moving any farther down Main Street.

Fire departments from Herman, Browns Valley, Tintah and Dumont are assisting Wheaton firefighters.
