African forest exhibit to open at Minn. Zoo

Reporters get a preview Wednesday of a new Minnesota Zoo exhibit featuring creatures of the African rain forest.

The exhibit, "Faces of the African Forest," opens Saturday at the zoo in Apple Valley. The new exhibit will be part of the zoo's Indoors Tropics Trail.

Visitors can see colobus monkeys, De Brazza's monkeys, dwarf crocodiles and fruit bats, among other animals. Children can get a different perspective when they look at dwarf crocodiles and fish swimming in a pool, thanks to a glass ceiling.

Kids also can crawl through a fallen log and look through viewing windows to see monkeys up close.
