Police say husband shot wife, then himself

Police say their investigation into a double shooting in Duluth shows the crime is an apparent attempted murder-suicide.

Michael William Peterson, 56, and Kay Marie Peterson, 50, were found with gunshot wounds to the head at their home Wednesday.

Police spokesman Brad Wick says Michael Peterson apparently shot his wife before shooting himself.

Authorities say both are hospitalized and on life support.

The Duluth News Tribune reports police found a handgun at the scene. Court records show Kay Peterson filed for divorce in March. ---
