Big Lake man accused of injuring daughter

A Big Lake man is charged with assault after his infant daughter suffered a head injury.

Twenty-four-year-old Chance Kjoberg is accused of inflicting head trauma on the 4½-month-old girl.

Sheriff Joel Brott says Sherburne County sheriff's investigators learned that the girl had been seen at a Minneapolis hospital for suspected child abuse.

The sheriff says investigators learned that, just before the girl was injured, Kjoberg was alone with his daughter for a few hours.

According to the sheriff, Kjoberg gave different stories about how the baby came to be injured, then eventually told investigators that he "had anger issues" and had dropped his daughter on her head when he lost his footing.

Kjoberg was in the Wright County Jail Friday on other matters.
