The Stillwater Lift Bridge is operating again, so boats can once again pass under it.

The bridge that connects Minnesota and Wisconsin over the St. Croix River developed a problem with the control module used to raise and lower the bridge. The module was repaired Friday night.

Minnesota Department of Transportation officials say the bridge was in the down position for about five hours.

MnDOT says the problem was discovered during the day Friday. State officials decided to keep the bridge lowered after consulting with the U.S. Coast Guard.
