The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is turning to social media to help find some of the state's most wanted people.
The BCA today said it was posting pictures and information of 15 predatory offenders on Facebook. They've been previously convicted for everything from kidnapping to child pornography.
"In the cases that are highlighted, the leads had started to run dry and so we were looking for new ways to reach out for information about these individuals," said BCA spokeswoman Jill Olivera. "Our feeling was, if we can get their pictures out there, get their information out there, maybe someone will see them and maybe know the person of have information about their whereabouts, and may be able to provide some new information."
All of the wanted offenders were required to supply authorities with information about their whereabouts, but have lost contact with state officials.
The BCA is asking people to call local police or even to submit tips anonymously online at por.state.mn.us.
