Blaine man charged with threatening VP Biden rejects plea

A Minnesota man charged with sending a threatening e-mail to Vice President Joe Biden has backed out of a plea agreement.

Barry Vincent Ardolf, 45, of Blaine, was charged last week with identity theft and threatening the vice president and other officials.

Prosecutors allege neighbors reported him to police for inappropriately touching one of their children. To retaliate, he allegedly created e-mail accounts in their names, hacked into their wireless computer routers and sent threats, child porn and other vile messages.

His lawyer, Seamus Mahoney, says Ardolf changed his mind and rejected the plea offer Tuesday because it recommended a minimum of two years in prison. Mahonney says Ardolf doesnt want to go to jail for something he didn't do.
