Flight to Florida from MSP delayed for 24 hours

Some 180 travelers flying from the Twin Cities to Orlando early Thursday morning had their flight delayed for more than 24 hours.

Their Delta Air Lines flight was supposed to take off at 7 a.m. Thursday.

But the plane had mechanical problems. The airline eventually brought in another plane, and the flight departed at about 10:30 Friday morning.

A Delta spokeswoman said flights to Orlando are heavily booked so the airline could not shift passengers to other flights.

Delta put the passengers in hotels overnight and gave them vouchers for future travel.
