2 Minnesota plane crash victims identified

The county coroner is identifying two of the three people killed in a small plane crash near the Rochester International Airport last week.

The Olmsted County coroner reports they are 28-year-old Heather Nichols of Clermont, Fla., and 30-year-old Daniel Lauritsen of Eagan.

Olmsted coroner Dr. Eric Pfeiffer tells the Post-Bulletin he can't confirm media reports that the third victim was Nichols' boyfriend, who was also from Florida.

Pfeiffer says authorities are waiting for dental records and should be able to make a positive identification in the next few days.

The sheriff's office has said the three were killed Wednesday when the Piper developed engine trouble during a leisure flight and crashed.
