Hundreds of struggling homeowners are expected at a workshop with lenders this week on how to save their homes.
U.S. Bank, Freddie Mac and other lenders will meet in Minneapolis with homeowners worried about falling behind on their loans at a two-day forum Wednesday and Thursday.
Ed Nelson, spokesman for the Minnesota Home Ownership Center, said staff from the lenders will be able to answer questions from homeowners.
"[And] perhaps even get a resolution there on the spot," he said.
Nelson said non-profit foreclosure prevention counselors will also be available to help homeowners understand their options.
"[It's] An opportunity ... to actually meet with another human being and sit down one on one with them and explain your situation to get a resolution as quickly as possible," he said.
The event is free and open to the public at South High School in Minneapolis.
