Two men escape after plane sinks in Lake Alexander
Two men escaped after their small plane sank in Lake Alexander in central Minnesota.
According to a Morrison County sheriff's department statement, the plane attempted to take off around 1 p.m. Sunday from the lake but wind caused the wing to catch the water.
The Cessna float plane ended up sinking in 17 feet of water, but both the pilot, 52-year-old Douglas Koch, and passenger, 42-year-old Michael Hubbard, escaped.
Hubbard, of Scottsdale, Ariz., was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Koch is from Wentworth, S.D.
