Minn. DNR increases invasive species enforcement

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is increasing efforts to stop the spread of invasive species over the Fourth of July weekend.

The DNR also is alerting boaters to a new law that takes effect Thursday requiring boaters to remove drain plugs and drain water before leaving any lake or river in Minnesota.

DNR officials plan a news conference at Gray's Bay on Lake Minnetonka to announce the stepped-up enforcement efforts.
