Woman pleads guilty in crash that killed fetus

A wrong-way driver who hit a minivan head on and killed an unborn child has pleaded guilty in the case in Hennepin County District Court.

KARE-TV reports that Connie Ann Stroud offered a tearful apology to the family of Tao Thao on Thursday. Thao lost her 8-month-old fetus when Stroud's pickup truck crashed into her family's van in December 2009.

Authorities say Stroud's blood alcohol level was 0.17 percent, over double the legal limit.

Seven people were in the van at the time. Tao Thao was critically injured and her husband and several of her children were hospitalized.
