The State Patrol says an 8-year-old Iowa boy is dead and three members of his family were seriously hurt after a four-vehicle crash west of Owatonna.
The Owatonna People's Press reports that the crash happened about 11 a.m. Friday on Highway 14 when a couple slowed to make a left-hand turn into their driveway.
As a tractor-trailer tried to pass on the right, it hit the turning vehicle and another one before entering the eastbound lane where it collided head-one with the Iowa family's vehicle.
The Iowa boy's father and a younger sibling were transported by ambulance to Owatonna Hospital. A medical helicopter took his mother to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
