Today's fast food restaurants seem to focus on the "fast." Get them in, get them fed and get them out.

Of course, this is exactly why fast food was created in the first place. Even so, there still used to be a little time for the personal touch.

This Greg Barron report from 1974 gets a glimpse of a McDonald's All-American crew competition. Workers went head-to-head taking orders, flipping burgers and preparing buns. City competition winners moved on to regional meets and then to national championships.
