Kelliher campaign not concerned over sample ballot error

The campaign manager for gubernatorial candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher says she's not concerned about the DFL Party's recent distribution of some inaccurate sample ballots.

Jamie Tincher said DFL officials notified the campaign that they sent out sample ballots that listed the wrong polling locations. As the DFL-endorsed candidate for governor, Kelliher is relying on the party's help in get-out-the-vote efforts for the August 10 primary. But Tincher said the inaccurate sample ballots won't hurt those efforts.

"I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it was an isolated number of folks," Tincher said. "We know who they are, and we're going to make sure that they get a phone call and that they know what the correct location is."

Tincher said Kelliher campaign volunteers are now calling about 20,000 voters a day.

A DFL party spokesman said he did not know how many sample ballots were incorrect and said all of the polling location lists are being updated.
